Our concept of development compromises cultural, economical, social and educational aspects. The challenges which we are facing are similar to those in other developing countries. Yet the situation is complicated due to the Israeli occupation. The majority of the Palestinian people cannot participate in the economical production process. Women are suffering from social ignorance, separation from the society and do not hold positions of emminence in the community. But it is essential to pay attention to and responsibly fullfill their main needs, as women make up the backbone of the families in the arabic society - their influence on the male partner should not be underestimated - and are responsible for the education of the children.
Karama is essentially working on other alternatives to this situation by training, educating and supporting women. In order to make the women part of our society, Karama offers aid through related educational programs about their role. We want to raise women's awareness of social and political issues on one hand and to support and train women in special programmes on the other. It's one of the reasons for which the Karama Organization has been founded.
Any woman is welcome to join our activities, which are all free!
