Basil

All the way from beautiful Sidney, Australia, Basil returns to the Middle East after
more than 50 years. A man of Greek heritage, he fled in his youth from his boyhood home of Alexandria, Egypt due to political unrest. This experience contributed to his nearly life-long interest in the Palestinian cause. He comes, now, a man with a wealth of business and organization experience, to connect with the individual personal experiences of Palestinians and share their struggles with as many people as he can. As he nears the end of his time with us, Karama looks forward to both his success and his return, hopefully in the coming year.

Hassan

Hassan is one of our younger members, at 11 years old. He has lived his whole life with his parents, two sisters and a brother in Deheishe. He attends the UNRWA school for boys where math is his favorite subject. Mobility in life is a challenge for him, as for everyone in Deheishe, so his days consist of school, home, Karama, and back home. At Karama, he studies English and French.
