Karama wants to extend its range of activities and projects step by step. Thus, we would like to realize the following projects in the upcoming year - if we are able to attain the needed financial support:
Project house purchase
The house in which the activities of Karama take place at present, is only rented: Month over month the rental costs take up a large part of the anual fund - nearly 2,000 Euro per year.
For this reason Karama would like to buy the house and to extend it, or to purchase a bigger one in the first place in the Deheishe camp. Even now there is already not enough space in the center of Karama to carry out the diverse offers for the children, adolescents and women as planned. Once the planned library and the PC-pool will have been established the center will not offer sufficient space any more.
That's why Karama is searching donators who support the project - for greater financial independence and more space for the children and adolescents of the center!

Estimated costs: 25,000 Euro
Summer camp 2005
During the years 2003 and 2004 Karama has carried out two weeks-lasting summer camps for about 80 children. Yet the financing has always been on the knife's edge and could only be assured immediately before the scheduled start of each camps. As a result, the programm had to be shortened, and not as many children as originally planned could participate. Thus Karama is in need of support to be able to sufficiently plan ahead the next summer camp. The 2005 summer camp is supposed to last three weeks and we would like about 200 children to take part in it.
Estimated costs : 12,000 Euro
Pocket money for the volunteers
About one dozen of young people from Deheishe work voluntarily for Karama. They are working as tutors, watch the children and give classes. Some of these tutors spend several hours on an almost daily basis with Karama without getting any money at all. But on the long run hardly any of the volunteers will be able to afford working for free. It does therefore happen quite regularly that volunteers who have absolutely no money left turn their back towards the organization and quit the job. In order to avoid this in the future, we would like to pay at least some pocket money to all tutors who regularly work for Karama - to keep them motivated and to preserve the continuity of Karama's work..
Estimated costs : 8,000 Euro annually
