Bustrup School Denmark

The Bustrup Hovedgaard (near Skive), is a multicultural centre for children, young people and adults from many different countries and backgrounds. The centre consists of two schools:

The International Continuation School, which trains adults from all over Europe, to prepare them to do developmental work in Southern Africa. There is also a small group of youngsters who live at Bustrup. They are all there because they need help in order to overcome difficulties they have encountered. The objective is to train them to lead a good and independent adult life.

The Day School at Bustrup, is a school where approximately 20 students between the ages of 10 and 18 recieve their school education. All the students are kids and youngsters who are there to get a challenging education. Some have learning difficulties, whilst some have problems at home that prevent them from concentrating. Others need help with making social relations with other young people and grown-ups. They need help with their education, their spare time activities and with doing their practical tasks. They are all persons who need to improve their social, practical and educational skills in order to meet the demands of society.

Most of the Students at The Day School live in Care Homes in the neighbourhood of Bustrup. Some live with their parents in the neighbouring towns. There is a close co-operation between the staff at the Day School and the staff at the Care Homes. All the students at Bustrup School Centre need challenges and a feeling of success to help them believe that they can change their situation.
