The School Centre at Bustrup Hovedgaard, is a multicultural School Centre for children, young people and adults from many different countries and backgrounds. The School Centre consists of 2 schools:
The International Continuation School, which is training adults from all over Europe, to get ready for doing development work in Southern Africa. There is also a small group of youngsters who live at Bustrup. They are all here because they need help in order to overcome different difficulties they have had, and training to get ready for living a good and independent adult life.
Bustrup is placed near Skive in Denmark.
The Day School at Bustrup, is a School where about 20 students between 10 and 18 years get their School education. The School is recognized by the local authorities. All the students are kids and youngsters who are here to get new challenges in their School programme. Some have learning difficulties, some have had so many problems at home that they are unable to concentrate on learning. Others need help with making social relations with other young people and with grown-ups. They need help with their education, their spare time activities and with doing their practical tasks. They are all persons who need to improve their social, practical and educational skills in order to meet the demands of the society.
Most of the Students at The Day School live in Care Homes in the neighbourhood of Bustrup. Some live with their parents in the neighbouring towns. There is a close co-operation between the staff at the Day School and the staff at the Care Homes. All the students at Bustrup School Centre need challenges and a feeling of success to help them believe that they can change their situation.
