Karama child story
My name is Zahear, I'm 13 years old.
I'm going to talk about my daily life in Dehesheh refugee camp.
I wake up every day at six o'clock and I prey and prepare myself for school, I leave home at ten to seven.
Normally I go to school before the bell ringing time, when the bell rings we take three lessons, break, and another three lessons, each lesson is about 40 minutes, after that I leave school to home. I eat my lunch and study my lessons.
I'm used to go to Karama three days a week after I finish my studies, in Karama, I share activities like the workshop of the teenagers that I am attended to, also I act with the theatre group, and I does many other activities. Sometimes, I go to Karama to have some English and math lessons, that Karama offers with some teachers for my age, and other different ages. I find Karama as something could complete the things that are not existed in the camp's life, I mean, in Dehesheh we have no places to spend time or do some activities in, we have no courts, and have no…. I don't really know what exactly we don't have, because life in Dehesheh needs a lot to be similar to some life in some where else.
Some of my hobbies are: computer which I does in Karama centre, and I take lessons, and find my school's research from the internet, another hobby is swimming which Karama can't offer me a swimming pool, but it takes us to Jericho in journeys and we swim. I also play the pole-ball at school, and I read some books from Karama new library.
In the summer camp, I normally stay at home or visit my relatives in Ramallah, but when I came to Karama I have heard about a new summer camp that will be in the coming summer , and I hope to share this summer camp with other young girls and boys, and if I does, I hope to have some creative activities, and some new interesting things, and also I hope to go on a trip to Jericho, or some other places in Palestine, and especially if Karama would take us to Jerusalem!
A story happened with me when I was going to Ramallah to see my relatives, we got a car and on the checkpoint the Israelis stopped us and started asking us many different questions, and we spent about one hours only passing that checkpoint, and we reached our family late!!
