Welcome to the Karama NewsletterWhat is up in Karama this week? Check Mate! This week we having our 3rd Chess Competition! All in all there are 20 children and volunteers taking part in it, looking outwho is the best! Chess has attracted a lot of new children at Karama and hopefully we will continue this workshop for a long period. After Olivier left, Michael - a volunteer from the States - took over the class with Osama, and they made more and more kids joining the group. Basketball Match On Saturday we are having a big basketball match on our small field in the back yard. Michael introduced his passion to the kids, and after they have been enjoying it so much, Karama decided to have a match. Because of Ramadan we make it later in the evening so the kids do not have to wait so long to be able to drink. Ramallah for a day! Our volunteers have been to Ramallah this week with the volunteers coordinator Luay. There they have been visiting the grave of Yasser Arafat and had some sightseing in the City Center. They were also able to meet the Governor of Ramallah, with whom they had the chance to discuss the political situation here personal perspectives.
